My Birthday Present

Sorry for not updating for a while but I've been busy. It's Birthday Season at my house. No new movie post today. I just wanted to show off one of the presents I received this year. A good friend was getting one and offered to pay for mine as well.

Here it is...my first tattoo.

The world's strongest (and possibly whitest) calf has been decorated. I know what you're asking yourself, "Did he get a Doug tattoo?" Yes. Why? Because Doug practically raised me. I learned everything I needed to know for life from Doug and Pete & Pete.

I went over to my friend Ryan's house and he drew me up a couple different versions. Brad and I drove to the tattoo parlor, drawings in hand, and proceeded to have our skin mutilated by the artists.

Pros: My artist had an awesome Lee Marvin tattoo. Stevie B.'s "Spring Love" was playing. It only took ten minutes and didn't hurt like I thought it would.

Cons: My artist chewed tobacco while he drew Doug. He also sang along with "Hollaback Girl" which came on after "Spring Love." The bleeding. Although, it was awesome when Doug had a bloody Joker mouth! "Wanna know how I got these scars?"

Overall, I'm really happy with my Doug tattoo. So happy, in fact, that I'm going again in two weeks to get another. Not sure of what yet. Any suggestions?

Nice tat!

Maybe your next tattoo could be of a woman in a red dress on your left forearm, that you can make dance. Might I suggest calling her Petunia. Or perhaps a sailing ship on your back.

A few of my friends and I discussed getting a Petunia tattoo. All I'm going to say is...it might happen.

I think you should hold some kind of contest and the winning suggestion WILL go on your other leg no matter what. even if it's a nude drawing of angelina fish-face jolie (whatever, she's pretty).

You know they say once you get one tat, you just can't stop...

I was gonna say Porkchop, but then I saw Whitney's idea and got excited.

I think you should do that! Hold a poll here on your site and let the readers decide!!! Do it, do it, do it, you know you wanna do it!

It's like that Daniel Tosh bit where he explains he's never go on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition because he doesn't trust his friends not to turn his house into a giant circus tent with his hardwood floors replaced by dirt arenas for the elephants.

"They do not have my best intentions in mind."

Haha. Although, if I can't think of anything in two weeks, it might come to that.

I suggest the 7-Up cartoon guy - they could be cousins...

Haha, that guy's awesome! Did they end up using him for Cartoon Network...or ABC...some TV channel commercial bumper? I can't remember.

Ah, found it. His name is Fido Dido and he was on CBS Saturday morning bumpers. That was going to drive me crazy.

Congrats with getting your first tat! And d'oh! Joe made the Petunia reference before I did!

Oh, and get ready for an 80-minute birthday present from me pretty soon! :D

Oh, that would be awesome!
Thanks!

Remember the Doug, when he goes to see a monster movie, but he can't look at the monster cause he's a chump and then when he finally does he sees the zipper and he's not scared anymore?

Because that's the only one I remember.

Awesome tat dude! I think for the next one you should get a full body profile of Bill Nichols flexing...Adonis style!

Nice! A friend of mine in NC has (a slightly modified) Petunia. You can sort of see it in his stupid self-indulgent myspace photo.

I personally think you should get Patti Mayonnaise on your other calf... then your Doug-calf can be perpetually confused about whether or not they're on a date date. Who even knows?

If and when I get a tattoo, it would pretty much have to be Calvin & Hobbes, I think. Either them in the time machine, on their sled, dancing, or possibly playing calvinball. Also, if anyone gets these tattoos before I get a chance to, I will take a cheese grater to that part of their skin. In other words, I'm calling dibs.
