5. Dead Alive 4. The Descent 3. Night of the Living Dead 2. People Under the Stairs 1. Halloween Easy question: what's your Top 5 favorite horror movies?
1. HALLOWEEN 2. THE EXORCIST 3. THE SHINING 4. NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD/DAWN OF THE DEAD 5. NOSFERATU, RE-ANIMATOR, BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN, FRIDAY THE 13TH PART III, HALLOWEEN III: SEASON OF THE WITCH, SUSPIRIA, DEEP RED, BLACK SUNDAY, SEVEN NOTES IN BLACK, NIGHTMARE ON ELMSTREET, DEAD ALIVE, THE THING.................
Adam, you really need to watch Dead Alive. I was skeptical for a long time. Something about it just didn't appeal to me but if you enjoy horror comedy even a little bit this is going to be fun for you.
I've only seen 1-3 but not Phantasm and Kill, Baby...Kill! Great choice with Night of the Hunter. And I'm glad we agree on Halloween.
Joseph, NOSFERATU, RE-ANIMATOR, BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN, FRIDAY THE 13TH PART III, HALLOWEEN III: SEASON OF THE WITCH, SUSPIRIA, DEEP RED, BLACK SUNDAY, SEVEN NOTES IN BLACK, NIGHTMARE ON ELMSTREET, DEAD ALIVE, THE THING............. almost made my list too but the third act lost me.
Halloween is the best. It just is.
Glenn - Wow, some love from Scream. It really is a better movie than any of the teen slashers from that time. It's completely self-referential of the genre and it's really interesting to watch multiple times.
I forgot about Blair Witch. That scared the crap out of me when I first watched it.
So far, you guys have recommended a bunch of moves that I've never even heard of. This is turning out to be way better than I hoped for. Now I need to watch: Kill, Baby...Kill!, Seven Notes in Black, Homicidal, and Creep.
Fox - YES! Shocker kicks ass. Excellent choice. I still need to see Basket Case and Re-Animator. I heard Re-Animator is insane. It's definitely on my horror list.
5) The Wicker Man (the original, not the Nicholas Cage remake -- just want to be clear on that) 4) Night of the Living Dead 3) Suspiria 2) Halloween 1) Texas Chainsaw Massacre
